Bearing the Sword: Developing Discernment through Scripture and Story is the first part in a curriculum that teaches discernment to high school students. Covering fifteen weeks (or one semester), this material covers the need for discernment, God's definition of good, and dissection of Philippians 4:8. Four days each week teach the principles of discernment through Bible study and personal application, followed by a day of applying those principles to the film clips. Simplifying Revelation is a brief, personal Bible study that focuses on learning the facts of this wonderful and somewhat terrifying book, free of the speculations that bog down many studies, in order to obtain a clearer understanding of what Revelation actually says and practical applications that we can apply now, no matter where we are in the prophetic timeline.
(Coming June 2023) Learn more here. The ABC's of Discernment provides a brief overview of the basics of discernment. For each letter of the alphabet, one principle is briefly discussed, followed by additional Scripture reading and application questions. Great for parents of young children who wish to start training them to be discerning. The format also makes this a good one-month devotional. Includes the bonus essay, "Practical Discernment."

Based on workshops which I've taught in the past, these brief booklets tackle specific topics pertaining to discernment and handling media, including working with secular media (The Other Side), an analysis of the qualities found in Philippians 4:8 (Guarding the Good), and a defense of why we need fiction and specifically the science-fiction/fantasy genre (Why Story?).
